ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS

Illini West Whitetails was developed for the serious hunter on a budget. We are owned and operated by a family who grew up farming and hunting the land. As a band of hunting brothers, we understand what it takes to be successful. We offer rustic, but comfortable accommodations and a great bow hunting experience. We understand that you come to West-Central Illinois for a world class HUNT and we do guarantee quality habitat and an exciting experience.

Our bow hunters stay at “Murphy’s Roost” cabin and hunt the family farm of consisting of 515-acres. Our farm contains a beautiful variety of prime whitetail habitat that includes: an abundance of hardwood timber and woodlots; row-cropped farmland; CRP; irregular field edge and waterways; food plots; and bottomland thickets. The farm features a remote timbered lakefront; a meandering portion of Long Creek; three ponds and several intermittent streams. Almost two-thirds of the property is non-farmland.

Hunters who book a 6-day hunt during the fall archery season would enjoy the use of our cabin that comfortably accommodates 4 hunters. To save you money, ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS has a housekeeping plan; where our guests are responsible for providing their own meals. Our cabin is furnished with all the basic essentials you would need to cook and make yourself comfortable.

The hunt will include: one day for arriving/orientation/hunting; five full days of hunting; and a final day for an early morning departure. The staff at ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS reserves one day of the week (normally Fridays) for clean up and restocking the cabin.

Our bow hunters will be required to sign a release of liability and to keep a log of their hunting experiences. Hunters will have a choice of hunting from our pre-set stands or hunting from their own tree stands. Our pre-set stands are the lock-on type with climbing sticks, and ladder stands. We also have several climbing stands available for use. At ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS, my brothers and I can assist you with your stands locations, and will serve to guide you in your quest for a trophy whitetail.

Clients who book their hunt at ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS, pay a non-refundable down payment (1/2 of the weekly rate) to reserve their specific week. The first archery season starts October 1st and continues through to the first firearm deer season that starts on November 18th. The cost is $1400/week/person. There is a surcharge of $100 per week during the November rut.

Family hunts are encouraged and supported at ILLINI WEST WHITETAILS as we offer a $200 reduced rate for youths who bow hunt with their mom or dad.
